Unfortunately, with the uncertain times of covid, I began working at Tesco as a means during the first lockdown.
After the first lockdown when I planned on returning to our dressmaking business, it was clear that demand had not yet returned, and, with the ongoing uncertainty, I decided that this was an opportune moment to make a whole new career change.
A change to something that I have been interested in for a long time, the IT industry.
So I decided to stay working at Tesco while I started the IT Career Switch Full-Stack Developer course.
I remained at Tesco's until January 2022 in order for me to concentrate on my course studies.
However, my time at Tesco's proved to me that I am hardworking and will work hard to meet deadlines.

For 8 years, I ran a bespoke dressmaking business with my sister Sophie, which is still trading.
We designed and created custom-made garments.
Ranging from prom dresses, evening dresses, wedding dresses, bridal and dance wear.
We also designed and created special-occasion dresses and outfits for individual clients.
We worked with many types of specialist fabrics including lace, beaded lace, full beaded fabric, chiffons, silks, leathers, crystals and others and offered a full alterations service.
I was actively involved in all aspects of the design and manufacturing process.
From the initial consultation with the client to determine what their thoughts and ideas are to the design, initial sketches, visualisation and manufacture.
I would work with clients on a one-on-one basis to help them decide on colour, fabric and detailing. Right through to the final design sign-off.
All of our pattern cutting and sewing was done by ourselves and selected staff, in-house.
Over this time, I was fully involved in the day-to-day operation of the business, working with staff and ensuring the smooth operation of the processes involved through to our computerised CRM program, online advertising and promotion.
I was involved in exhibiting our wedding dresses and bridal wear at Wedding Exhibitions within the Northwest and beyond and booking and supervising fashion shots, working with photographers and models to meet deadlines.
